Melody Hine has been singing barbershop in various quartets and choruses since she was 14. She earned her music education degree from the University of Georgia, and after that spent a year working for Disney World and Universal Studios before beginning her teaching career at Duluth Middle School and then continuing to teach chorus at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown, Maryland.
Melody is proud to be a member of Harmony Incorporated, Sweet Adelines International and the Barbershop Harmony Society. Her roles currently include certified BHS Music Judge and Musical Director of Parkside Melody, the upper voices ensemble of the Hershey Chapter of the BHS. She also sings baritone in the Song of Atlanta Show Chorus as well as the 2019 HI Harmony Queens, Hot Pursuit. Melody loves arranging and coaching groups of all levels, and she especially enjoys being a part of barbershop youth events.
“Melody is a master of customizing arrangements to meet the needs of any group’s range and ability level, and her creativity makes the music come alive. My high school students loved singing her custom charts, and she was always so flexible and professional to help them be successful, even during the learning process. I have also used her existing young women’s charts with hundreds of singers at summer camps, and they were enjoyed by all!”

“Melody Hine is a talented arranger and even more incredible human. As a learning track producer, Melody Hine is a joy to work with; and as a musical director, she consistently goes above and beyond. I’ve commissioned her to arrange songs for my chorus, quartet, and even my personal album, and each time she is always willing to do whatever it takes to make the arrangement serve the ensemble to the best of her ability. She is capable of arranging many styles of music: whether it be barbershop, pop, or choral music because she has a wealth of knowledge and experience that empowers her to create arrangements that serve both the genre and the singer. I highly recommend commissioning Melody for your next project!”
